Sale Creek grad and local Eagle Scout is newest cadet in US Air Force Academy
Eisa Eilertson: Troop 1020
In School Patrol, we salute the newest cadet in the Air Force Academy: Eisa Eilertson!
Eilertson, who just graduated from Sale Creek High School, is looking forward to her next destination. She is an Eagle Scout who has completed projects to improve accessibility in her community. She was a proud JROTC student who had been accepted into three military academies, and has now chosen the Air Force.
Just three years ago, Local 3 covered the first Sale Creek senior to receive military academy appointment: Sale Creek Principal LeAnn Welch's daughter, Molly Welch, entered the Naval Academy. She and other JROTC students were among Eisa's role models.
Molly Welch is valedictorian of her class, and is the first Sale Creek student to receive an appointment to a military academy.
"Watching the people before me, watching them grow in JROTC, such as my brother and Molly Welch," says Eisa. "Just being able to see each step they took, follow in their footsteps, and then do more on my own. Without them, I would not be here today."
Eisa was also a multi-sport standout athlete at Sale Creek, earning several championships and trophies along the way.
We hope you'll join us in wishing her a successful journey at the US Air Force Academy!
