Imagine spending the day swimming, hiking, and canoeing and the evening sitting around a crackling campfire. Memories of the time spent on a Scout camping trip last a lifetime.

But there is more to camping than creating lifelong memories. Camping is also a great way for Scouts to become self-reliant and resourceful and learn about teamwork and responsibility.

The Cherokee Area Council provides camping opportunities through its Skymont Scout Reservation, district camporees, Cub Scout Cub and Partner Weekends, and Venturing weekends. These events are organized and managed by Council and District teams.
